During the last few years the number of the Romanians increased very fast, leading to the formation of new Romanian Orthodox parishes abroad.
The Parish “The Holy Apostles Peter and Paul” from Nottingham has begun its existence as a dream of a few people.
In the beginning of 2008, Mr. Adrian Stan met Fr. Dan Ghindea (by that time a deacon) and discussed the possibility of establishing a Romanian Orthodox Parish in Nottingham, dedicated to the Romanians living in the Midlands.
Shortly, more an more people joined this idea and started promoting the formation of the new Parish. A Council of the Parish has been formed, which ensured the necessary guidance.
In the spring of 2008 our parish also obtained a shepherd, when Fr. Dan Ghindea was ordained as a priest by the Metropolitan Iosif of the Romanian Orthodox Church in Western Europe.

The other orthodox communities in Nottingham (Russian and Greek) welcomed the formation of our Parish and allowed us to serve together the Divine Liturgy.
With the increase of the Romanians attending the services, we decided to rent our own place, where to worship God in our language. (and English, of course). We finally found such a place, which is going to be inaugurated on September, 7th.
The address is: Memorial Hall, Bramcote, Church Street, NG9 3HD
Our community already had some important events:
- 11 May 2008: Romanian party organized at the restaurant “Yannis”. About 35 romanians were present, a good occasion for the people to know better each other.
- 15 June 2008: The first baptism withis our community: Andrei Denis.
- 29 June 2008: To celebrate our Patron Saints The Holy Apostles Peter and Paul we have organized a party. We were honoured to have Fr. Gregory Butler with us, who is the Priest of the Russian Orthodox community.

The Council of our Parish organizes weekly meetings to discuss the organization of our parish, and diverse problems of the Romanian Community. As with every start, there are many problems to be solved, many things to be bought, and any help is warmly appreciated. People who wish to take part to the activities of our community are wellcomed.
- 7 septembrie 2008: Inaugurarea oficiala a Parohiei “Sf. Apostoli Pentru si Pavel”
Setup of the iconostasis
